(Re)connect with Berea
Berea College’s social media efforts have been ranked among the nation’s best. So, here’s a primer on how you can (re)connect with Berea.
Facebook- love it or not, Facebook is the most-used social network on the planet. Connect with us and other Bereans here and read frequent daily updates, view photo galleries (some that you’ve requested), and know what’s going on. We are approaching our 10,000th Facebook fan, and we’re in the #2 spot for the most fans for a private college in Kentucky, but we’re making our move!
Twitter- some get it, some don’t, but Twitter is the fastest growing social network. It’s also the most misunderstood. Here’s a hint: use Tweetdeck or HootSuite to make sense of the chaos… then follow us. Our Twitter feed will keep you informed on the latest news and alerts. And when you post about Berea, make sure to use hashtags (#BereaCollege).
YouTube- without arguing over whether this is a social network or a content sharing site, let’s just agree that YouTube is the premiere site for watching and sharing videos. Where else can you watch a cat startled by Super Mario or Charlie biting fingers? Fortunately, we have a few gems of our own on our YouTube channel: footage of Berea College from more than 80 years ago, performances by the Black Music Ensemble, bell hooks giving a lecture, and Silas House and Chad Berry talking about Appalachian issues on Head of the Holler, among more than 100 more videos.
And, you certainly don’t want to miss Berea’s appearance on the Mickey Mouse Club in 1955.
We also offer content through Flickr, Instagram, Google +, and you can have all the news delivered straight to you inbox via our RSS feed. You’re busy, we know… so how can you possibly keep up with all this? It’s all on BCnow, your one-stop shop for Berea news and multimedia.
Whatever you do, be Berean.
Together…
